If you see anyone looking through your garbage, recycle, or compost containers over the next few weeks, don’t be alarmed! We along with the Upper Valley Waste Management Agency are conducting lid-flip audits on randomly selected addresses in accordance with the new state law, SB 1383. They will be looking for contamination (i.e., items that don’t belong in that specific cart) and attaching “Oops tags” that show what should and should not go into each cart. This is NOT to get anyone into trouble, but rather to help all of us become better recyclers and composters.
